Stimulant misuse has surged alongside rising ADHD diagnosis rates and the pressures of modern life. Whether it started with a prescription for Adderall or Ritalin, or with illicit amphetamines, stimulant dependence can quietly take over your life — affecting sleep, relationships, mental health, and productivity.

Many people who misuse stimulants are high-functioning and fear that stopping will mean losing their edge. At Sunflower Clinic, we help you build sustainable performance and focus without chemical dependence.

Our treatment addresses both the physical dependence and the underlying reasons you turned to stimulants in the first place — whether that's unmanaged ADHD, work pressure, academic stress, or something else entirely.

Our Treatment Approach

We start with a comprehensive ADHD and cognitive assessment to determine whether an underlying attention disorder is present. If so, we work with you to find non-addictive strategies and coordinate with your healthcare provider for alternative options.

Therapy uses CBT adapted for stimulant dependence, focusing on building natural productivity habits, managing performance anxiety, and developing healthy routines for sleep, exercise, and nutrition.

For patients discontinuing high-dose stimulants, we provide intensive therapeutic support during the withdrawal period and coordinate with medical providers as needed.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about getting started.

Absolutely. We'll evaluate your ADHD and find effective, non-addictive treatment alternatives so you can manage your attention without the risks of stimulant dependence.

Many patients find that with proper sleep, therapy, and alternative treatments, their productivity improves because they're no longer cycling through highs and crashes.

If you can't function without it, need increasing doses, or experience withdrawal when you stop — yes, that's dependence, and it deserves proper treatment.
